The Toleration of Lies
The Toleration of Lies
June 11, 2025 - The Toleration of Lies
"We demolish arguments of every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thoght to make it ovedient to Christ. - 2 Corinthians 10:5
Sometimes I wonder, why I can not turn a passive eye to issues in my city, country and world. Why can others do so easily yet I feel tension? I am reminded that I have chosen to follow Christ and although yes, I wrestle with sin like everyone else, but I do know that my heart is in a different place and my spirit has a desire to serve God.
There is no secret the world has changed so much and the age we are in, tolerance id demanded, and the truth is despised. Lies are not just accepted, they're expected as part of indoctrination. If you don't comply you're labeled hateful.
Let's be honest, tolerating lies is not compassion, it's cowardice!
Scripture and following Christ doesn't leave room to go with the crowd. In 2 Corinthians 10, Paul is writing to a church under pressure, from outside culture and false teachers within. Paul warned of spiritual warfare, it's not against flesh and blood, but against ideas, philosophies and high-sounding arguments that oppose God's truth. These weren't random thoughts, they were sinful views designed to undermine the authority of Christ and to divide the church. I believe Paul's warning is as relevant today as it was back 2,000 years ago.
Culture says celebrating Pride is about love and acceptance, but when love is redefined to mean celebraing sing, and when acceptance means silencing biblical truth, we cross into dangerous spaces. Replacing Mothers and Fathers Day with pride parades in schools, elevating gender confusion and identity, mocking God's design for family are all relevant and current examples of the same spiritual warfare which Paul talked about. This is a spiritual battle, a battle for TRUTH.
To love people like Christ commands does not mean I need to accept or support people who live or choose to live a different lifestyle that does not align. I am still called to love, be kind and certainly respect and share kindness which is the love of Christ.
I continue to pray and intercede for my community, the decision makers and those in influence. That their eyes will be opened and the that the truth will pierce the darkness within them. I pray that people of God have courage to speak and stand for truth.
